We are very excited to now be offering places to children aged 18 months. Our outstanding nursery provision is now registered to Ofsted for younger children. In July 2026 we were awarded an expansion grant from Cornwall Council to refurbish our Sunshine room into a new inviting learning environment for under 2’s. We have spaces available for your child aged 18 months to 4 year olds. Our nursery sessions are 9.00am to 12.00pm and 12.00pm to 3.00pm. We also offer a breakfast club and after school club. We offer free places if you are eligible for funding. Come and play on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1.15pm to 2.30pm. This is a fun session for children aged 0-3. Activities include painting, play dough, stories, songs and sensory activities. All children receive 15 hours of free nursery education from the age of 3 (funding starts the term after your child’s third birthday). There are other types of funding that your child may be eligible for: 30 funding for working families – your child can receive 30 hours of nursery funding from the age of 9 months (funding starts the term after your child turns 9 months old) if you work the equivalent of 16 hours at the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage or more. Camborne Nursery School and Truro Nursery School have federated. The new federated name is Cornwall Nursery Schools Federation. The federation will respect and uphold the identities and unique qualities of each school in order to reflect their communities. There will be very little change on a day to day basis. The BBC and National Literacy Trust have been at Camborne Nursery School today filming and sharing our World Book Day Celebrations. We had a great time sharing one of this year’s books “The Magic Balloon.” Books and stories play an important role in developing a child’s language and communication skills well before they can read. We work closely with The Froebel Trust. We have completed training for all staff to develop our practice and embed Froebelian principles. Our headteacher Emma has recently recorded a podcast to discuss the new Froebel pamphlet that she wrote with Helen Adams.
