How do children learn at Camborne Nursery School?
Pupils at Camborne Nursery make outstanding progress. Learning and teaching is through play and "hands on" experiences. Teachers use songs, stories and moments of discovery to guide children on their learning journey.
We follow the Early Year’s Foundation Stage for children 0 – 5 years old. The children are offered a range of activities that develop all areas of learning and development:-
Staff follow each child’s interests and plan as a team to meet every child’s learning needs. All planning is displayed in the classrooms. We aim to present the areas of learning in stimulating and fun ways that allow and support children’s success
Parental quote:
“I feel very privileged that my daughter attends this Nursery. We feel she is gaining a head start in life through all the experiences she meets here.”
Children have access to high quality resources. Our outdoor environment with its fantastic sand and water garden has been designed by Wendy Titman, specifically for children under 5. Our Forest School Leader works alongside the children developing their understanding of the natural world including campfire activities and apple pressing. We have outdoor learning activities and all weather outdoor clothes to allow children the freedom to choose where they play. The children visit the local beach and continue their exploration of the natural world through adult led activities.
As a local maintained authority Nursery School, we employ fully qualified teachers and teaching assistants. We understand that young children need nurture and care to become confident and independent in their learning.
Parental quote
